Angie Woollard

Music is life.

I'm Angie, aka StarstruckCanuck, and I live in western Canada.  I have been musical ever since I was a young 'un, taking band (clarinet) throughout school and also teaching myself to play piano.  I have always loved to sing but I have a low voice, so I was thrilled to finally find a genre that I fitted into: women's barbershop!  I have sung bass in my Sweet Adelines chorus for about 14 years, and we compete yearly at the regional level.  In 2019, our score qualified us to compete at the internationals in 2022, where we scored third in the world!

I'm also obsessed with music theory and love to break down and analyze songs to study their chord structures, and I've recently started a blog where I share these analyses.  Music speaks to me through so many senses, and I will often discuss music with my son (who composes ambient music) in terms of colours, textures, or other abstract descriptors.  I was absolutely delighted to discover VoicePlay and dive into enjoying VP songs on so many levels.  The complexity and richness and innovation of these arrangements has literally renewed my outlook on music.  It's like VoicePlay was the sound I've been looking for my whole life.

When I'm not obsessing about music, I also love to create geometric art and to travel the world.
